Where else, on a weekend in the middle of July, can a family celebrate Christmas, experience a Native American Rock Opera, go to one of the biggest children’s Festivals in the world, and see Peter Pan and Tinker Bell. Oh and that’s in addition to the lakes, museums, shopping, live shows of every variety, and the other exciting family activities available just about every day in Branson, Missouri, “the live music show capital of the world.”
“Christmas is coming to the Grand Village all month long,” said Paul Miller, who has12 years experience within Branson’s tourism industry and is currently the general manager of the Branson Tourism Center, one of Branson’s largest and most respected sellers of Branson show and attraction tickets. He went on to point out that the month long “Christmas in July” celebration at the Grand Village Shops, 2800 W. Highway 76 in Branson, will include a variety of activities including musical performances, magic shows, special appearances by some of the Branson area’s best artisans and craftsmen and, it is rumored, special appearances by Mrs. Claus.
Miller continued saying, “Branson’s biggest and most popular attraction, Silver Dollar City is holding KidsFest during the month of July and through August 9.” It is featuring the first U.S. performance of JEERK, a Swedish super group that has become a phenomenon in Europe, the “Magic of Peter Gossamer,” an original live stage show featuring America’s favorite talking vegetables from VeggieTales and the “Kid Concoctions Activity Center,” a hands-on activity where kids can make their own creations from the acclaimed Kid Concoctions books and television show.
He said, “KidsFest’ is specifically designed for kids and families and provides an opportunity for families to have a special family experience. Miller also reminds that the activities of “KidsFest” are in addition to all the other rides, excitement, food, and adventure that a day at Silver Dollar City offers.

For those wanting to share a unique Branson show experience with their families, Miller said that there are two shows in Branson for limited engagement that will do just that. Cathy Rigby is appearing at the Grand Mansion in the world class production of “Peter Pan” until August 9. It is a show that will delight children of all ages as it sparks the imagination and excites with its “flying” action.
Miller said, “Brule’ & AIRO,” appearing at the RFD Theatre until Sunday July 19, provides Branson families with another opportunity for a unique family entertainment experience. It is an exciting experience in music, sight, and history conveying the spirit of our country’s Native American culture through a beautiful moving and touching combination of music, dance and narration as Native American music joins America’s musical mainstream.
