A guaranteed $10,000 first place prize is up for grabs on Saturday, May 9 in the second stop of the “2009 CPAA Missouri Skeeter Tour” on Table Rock Lake. The Skeeter Tour, sponsored by Skeeter boats and hosted by the Central Pro-Am Association (CPAA), is a series of three independent team tournaments held throughout Missouri.

Local business man Jim Thompson, who recently took over the ownership of the CPAA, said the first Skeeter Tour Tournament in the series was held at the Lake of the Ozarks on March 29, had 92 teams participating and that the first place $10,000 prize went to the team of Jimmy Davis, Jr. and Jackie Davis, brothers from Willard, with a total team weight of 24.44 pounds. He also pointed out that $18,400.00 was collected from the fishermen in registration fees and all $18,400.00 was paid back in prizes.

Thompson stressed that fishermen do not have to own a Skeeter boat to participate in the Skeeter Tour Tournament and explained that the format of the tournament is the “buddy” or team format. The teams register as a team and compete as a team with the winner of the tournament determined by the highest total weight with a team limit of a maximum of five bass.

The entry fee for each Skeeter Tour Tournament is $200.00 per team. Although it is too late to mail entries teams may register in person at the CPAA Administrative Offices located at 220 Branson Hills Parkway, Ste B or by phone at 417- 335-5075. In addition, entries will be accepted at the ramp on May 9, until 15 minutes prior to take-off.

The tournament will launch out of Ahoy’s in Kimberling City, MO at 6:30 a.m. or first light on May 9, with the weigh-in, also at Ahoy’s, at 3:00 p.m. The launching and weigh-in areas are located on the west side of State Highway 13 in Kimberling City down behind the Kimberling Inn. For additional information or directions please call 417-335-5075.

The third and last event of the “2009 CPAA Missouri Skeeter Tour” will be held at Truman Lake on July 26. For information on all the Skeeter Tour Tournaments as well as the CPAA Tournament information and results is on the CPAA website www.central-proam.com.
