It’s official, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will be performing in Branson on May 9 through May 10, 2009. On Dec. 30 the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, “Thunderbirds,” announced the performance as one of the 73 air shows it will be performing during its 56th season in 2009. The announcement stated that the performances would consist of more than 40 aerial maneuvers, a ground show and involve the participation of 11 officers and over 120 enlisted personnel from over 30 specialties throughout the Air Force.
In making the announcement, Lt. Col. Greg Thomas, the team's commander and leader, said, “We are focused on making this season thrilling for audiences from Ocean City, Maryland, to the Far East." Thomas went on to say the team was humbled to represent Airmen at locations throughout America and overseas as they continually execute the Air Force mission, which is to “Fly, Fight, and Win…in air, space, and cyberspace.”
